Development of Grain Growth Promotion Technique of Ni-Based Superalloy IN713 Fabricated by Metal Injection Molding

High temperature strength is one of the critical technical issues to apply metal injection molding (MIM) Nickel-based superalloy IN713. In this study, through investigating microstructure and high IN713-MIM materials in detail, we developed technique promote grain growth. experiments using IN713C-MIM materials, tensile creep were remarkably inferior castings. The deformation mechanism revealed that boundary diffusion was dominant as stress exponent determined n = 2.72. Therefore, found out it important reduce amount by promoting examinations aiming carbides on boundary, which inhibited migration, carbon content IN713LC-MIM-sintered material could be suppressed C 0.05%. Subsequently, when IN713LC-MIM-HIP-ed subjected additional heat treatment at 1280°C for 12 hr, significant growth observed.
